Benefit Related Online Employment Support (360G-SCVO-a11b000000EtjaKAAR)
The project involves supporting people predominately over 50 across Aberdeen city who have little or no online skills, which is a barrier to them being able to manage all their benefit related online legal requirements. Digital skills support will also be given to help them undertake their job searches, complete online application forms and populate their job search logs. This project will identify and develop the skills of their staff in line with the Digital Unite-Digital Champion’s Toolkit, enabling them to support learners from their city centre base and at the community based sessions. A roll out to volunteers will be considered towards the end of the project in order to continue the embedding activity.

Recipient Org: Description | iConnect are a local North East of Scotland charity based in Aberdeen, offering two core services: (a) helping people with their Self-Directed Support and (b) supporting people develop Life Skills. To this end, we provide free independent advice, information and practical support to all client groups, no matter their age, disability group or culture. Since September 2014 we have supported over 4,000 local people. All our services actively support individuals and carers to have more choice and control over their lives and become part of communities. Within our Life Skills offering, local people with limited or no basic digital skills can be supported to learn digital life skills in either a community (small groups) or homebased (one-to-one) environments. Recently, we have worked with the SCVO One-Digital team promoting the roll out of the Making Digital Work & Making Digital Everyday sessions as the anchor organisation for Aberdeen. |
