Recipient Org: Description | Kilve Village Hall was built in 1908 since that date the committee of management has maintained and continues to maintain the fabric of the building for the use and benefit of the residents of the village in this rural area of Somerset The village hall is the only community building in the village, it is used on a regular basis by several groups i.e. Pilates, Ballroom Dancing, Film Club, Women's Institute, Short Mat Bowls, Sugar Craft, Mothers Union, Flower Club, Parish Council and the PCC. It is also used for fund raising events throughout the year, Bingo, coffee mornings, table top sales etc. The hall is hired privately for birthday parties, wedding receptions, and other private functions. The village has an elderly population; more than 60% are aged 60 or over and of those 40% are over 65. |
