Recipient Org: Description | The WMC Patient Participation Group's purpose is to improve communication between patients and professionals by providing a forum for consultation and feedback, identifying and promoting health issues and ensuring patients are able to suggest positive ideas and voice concerns. All discussions are covered by a confidentiality agreement which each new member of the Group signs. All members are registered patients of the WMC. We meet 5 times a year. We assist with patient surveys, steward flu immunisation clinics, provide a patient newsletter (on hold at present following the retirement of our editor), we run PPG awareness days at the Surgery from time to time. We also have a book stall at the Medical Centre to generate modest funds, primarily of cover printing costs. At our AGMs we elect a Chairman, Vice Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary, PR Officer, Events and Fund Raising Officer. We are affiliated to the National Association of Patient Participation and respond to their requests for our views on relevant issues. This ensures that our Group has a voice at National level. We have representation on the Somerset PPGs' Chairmen's Group run by the Somerset Clinical Commissioning Group which meets 3 times a year. |
