Recipient Org: Description The organisation looks after the environment along the waterways in the West Country with special emphasis on the maintenance and conservation of the waterways in Somerset. We also campaign on behalf of members and volunteers on issues connected to those waterways. We offer a safe environment for the participation of the more vulnerable members in our society, and for all ages over 18 years interested in conserving the waterways and maintaining the environment. Children are also encouraged to be involved, provided they are accompanied by a responsible adult. Since the 1st May 2018, in this year alone, (5 months) , we have already had over 89 people who have participated on multiple occasions, reflecting 98 sessions and 2600 hours of conservation work achieved. In 2016/17 there were 169 work sessions achieving 4434 volunteer work hours. In 2017/18 there were 201 work sessions achieving 5414 volunteer work hours.
