Recipient Org: Description Yeovil Art Space is a charity organisation and a creative hub in Yeovil, which aims to bring art and creativity to the local community and visitors. Projects are run in partnership with organisations, businesses, groups and individuals to provide arts and cultural activities for people of all ages. Activities include participatory events, learning workshops, art exhibitions and showcasing work in other locations in the town. Charitable objects For the public benefit the advancement of education in the arts in Yeovil and surrounding areas through the provision of visual arts, including but not limited to digital, moving image, 2D & 3D contemporary art and design. Activities 2020-2021 YAS reaches more than 5000 people through its activities despite of Covid-19 restriction, including: 1. 6 weeks summer creative art workshop for 12 young people aged 12-15 2. Exhibition Apart Together, a collaborative art project of 20 artists 3. Christmas showcase of more than 30 local artists 4. Yeovil Window Wanderland distributed 500 free activity packs, more than 200 households took park and visited by more than 4000 people, with more than 400 facebook group members. 5. Together We Are Stronger community project achievement - 20 podcasts from 19 care home residents and staff, and elderly in Yeovil. (Available on our website) - 1500 activity booklet for primary school and family. (Deliver directly to the schools, distributed via Yeovil Library & available to download from our website) - 4 online workshop for 14 children (7-13 years old) to create poster art respond to the podcast - Online activity for young people (14 - 18 years old) to create poster art and creative writing. - 2 creative writing zoom workshops for 12 young people (14-24 year old). - Creative writing resources for 3 local secondary schools reaching 24 years 7-9 students. - 4 artist tutorial sessions for 14 BTEC graphic design students and 15 Degree level graphic design students. - Yeovil Mini Creatives provides 500 families free activity booklet - We created 6 part-time job opportunities for creatives in Yeovil 6. We moved to the new space on 1 April to provide better facilities for exhibitions, workshops, and events.
