Recipient Org: Description Actiontrack provides creative projects, sessions and workshops for young people across the county and at it's studio space in Taunton. This work is focussed on young people from the PRU and NEET sector with funding from Sound Foundation Somerset that supports 40-50 sessions each academic term either at the studio or on site at centres across Somerset. In addition we run projects and provide resources and support for young music makers including music tuition, recording and technology workshops. All our projects are designed to support young people and their carers/staff/support networks in the following ways: 1 - with projects that counter rural isolation, 2 - with positive activity to enhance creative, physical and mental well-being, 3 - with industry level experience and resources as preparation for work/further study 4 - with activity that promotes self-esteem and self-awareness 5 - with activity that promotes positive networking and counters the likelihood of falling into negative and destructive activity (e.g. county lines recruitment, self-harm, domestic abuse) Of particular note - and as a backdrop to this application - we recently completed a Youth Music Funded project 'OutThere'. This offered music and creative opportunities to those in the NEET Sector or in danger of becoming NEET on a referral system, administered by our project partners Take Art. Over the course of the project (nearly three years) we were able to successfully support referrals back into education, on into work, in their re-introduction to peer groups and society as a whole and away from destructive behavious as outlined (briefly) above. For further information on this project and details as to its reach and effect a copy of the independent evaluation is attached.
