| Recipient Org: Description | We operate a youth group for young people between the ages of 7 and 18. We run threes camps per year, weekly meetings and offer opportunities to develop team work, sporting skills, to learn about ourselves and how we can work within our local communities. We have grown as a group and since the pandemic have doubled in size. We have been able to take children to camp who otherwise don't have a holiday, taken them on outdoor activities such as caving, kayaking, mud trails and hiking to develop their sense of adventure, find out about themselves and work together as a team. we encourage and support our teenage members to work with our younger children, to undertake their DofE and to volunteer within our local villages. We operate across a number of small villages to provide opportunities for young people where such opportunities are limited. We have access to a minibus to increase the range of opportunities we can provide. All our leaders are volunteers and do this because they believe in young people. All our leaders undertake regular training to update and enhance their skills. We want our young people to have fun and learn through enjoying and challenging themselves. |
