Recipient Org: Description We support adults with learning disabilties and autism to lead full and rich lives. We are mainly passionate about social connection and relationships, aiming to empower and enable our community to build and maintain rich friendships and relationships. We are aiming to reduce social isolation and loneliness and increase positive wellbeing and improve mental health. We do this by hosting monthly pub socials, throwing parties, running a theatre group, special yoga classes, a Bristol inclusive club night once a month, relationships and sexual health workshops and more recently our DJ club' project where we teach learning disabled and neurodivergent adults to mix. We love music at Loveable and use music to express ourselves and bring us together. The best thing we have achieved this year is to grow our monthly pub socials from 8 people attending to now 30 people most months! We used to sit on one table in the pub and do a quiz - now we take over half the pub! We have 2 new volunteers to help facilitate these and we have Loveable ambassadors to help to greet new members, facilitate the quiet table and use a social sticker system. We have built up a great relationship with the Hideout Pub and we have helped the staff there to understand some of our members needs and highlight disability and how they can make their venue more accessible. We do not believe in 'special areas' or function rooms out the way and we believe that we have really done alot here to tackle stigma and discrimination of Learning disabled people being visible in society. We have put so much work in to Loveabe since receiving start up funding from Somerset Community Foundation and we are working hard to come up with ideas to make our company sustainable and not solely reliant on funding however any more help we can get while we are new to help us run our projects and grow our community and help us reach more people will be vital and put to good use.
