Recipient Org: Description Aswell as being a competitive and friendly sports the Club also provides a social meeting place in the heart of the village. A good bowls clubs can develop people's physical skills and the competitive element, which is good for developing social skills can also give people (especially the younger ones) certain standards to aim for. The etiquette of bowls is a good way of learning how to interact with others. The health and welfare of members and others are benefited by being out in the fresh air and for some people this is the only form of exercise they receive. Bowls is environmentally friendly and our green is a great asset to our village. Bowls is good for peoples health and gives a chance for lonely people to meet friends. Our objectives are to maintain the Club that we have built but also to try and encourage new members. We try to undertake this by word of mouth, leaflet drops, open days and fun days.
