Recipient Org: Description The Shed aims to mitigate loneliness and social isolation and linked health problems by providing fully-equipped workshops and meeting spaces where Members can pursue craft and social activities and make friends, whilst also providing low-cost repair services to the local community. The Shed recycles materials, reducing waste going to landfill, helping meet environmental and climate change goals. Membership is open to all over 18 years of age but is predominantly from the elderly. Members range from the able-bodied to the vulnerable including, for example, people with autism, learning difficulties and dementia sufferers who can attend with carers if required.
