Recipient Org: Description Sustenance is a volunteer-led community kitchen and food bank which aims to address food inequalities and champion climate friendly food preservation through repurposing surplus produce in East Sussex. Sustenance has 4 main objectives: 1) Reduce food waste (better environment) 2) Improve nutrition (better health) 3) Reduce Food Poverty (better health) 4) Build community (better wellbeing). Sustenance volunteers collect surplus food each week and prepare a nutritious hot 3-course meal for 35 refugees from Ukraine, Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan and Sudan and 35 local people experiencing food poverty - along with an additional bag of fresh produce to take home.
