Recipient Org: Description Age UK North Craven has existed for over 30 years with the aim of making later life in North Craven a fulfilling and enjoyable experience, reducing isolation and loneliness, and providing the right support at the right time. One of its key strengths is its local place within the community, and the loyalty with which the community gives its support by donating and buying in its charity shops, stepping forward to become one of its team of over 200 volunteers, and use and support our activities. The summary of the charities function is: To promote the relief of elderly people in and around North Craven (“ The area of benefit “) in any manner which now or hereafter may be deemed to be charitable in law. The general charitable purposes are the advancement of health or saving lives, Disability, The prevention or relief of poverty and Recreation. The beneficiaries are elderly and old people and other charities or voluntary bodies. This is achieved by providing services, providing advocacy, advice and information. The identified activities are: A wide range of older people’s services aimed at improving later life and enabling them to remain independent and in their own homes. Transport – minibus journeys and volunteer car scheme, Information and Advice, Independent support, Befriending, Day activities – Lunch Clubs, social opportunities and special interest groups. Practical help at home. We work collaboratively with a range of partners throughout Craven on a range of health, social and welfare issues. We are an active participant within Craven wide partnerships. We are currently contracted by North Yorkshire County Council to provide a range of support and services to the community and the community groups supporting Coronavirus response and support.
