Covid19 (360G-TwoRidingsCF-A556192)
The money will be spent to buy food and containers to enable the group to distribute over 80 packs of prepared cold ready to eat meals to homeless people every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday into March 2021. This is based on current demand for meals which is expected to continue. Ordinarily the soup kitchen would provide hot meals but due to social distancing the group are providing lunch box style meals. Food is sourced at discount from Tesco where possible.

Recipient Org: Description | The Amazing Grace chapel, in Hull was established in 2006 and became a registered charity in 2007. We are an all-inclusive welcoming church with the aim of spreading the Christian faith and relieving poverty in our community. We serve the community of Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire and believe that caring for people in need of help, is an essential part of living as a Christian and so as a sign of God’s love in action, we support and care for all people in our community. We achieve this by ensuring the Amazing Grace Chapel is a warm, welcoming, vibrant and busy community centre offering an eclectic programme of activities that support people in our community. We work in many partnerships across Hull and the East Riding to support the economic and community development of the region, undertaking community outreach activities and providing welfare support to church members and the general public. A priority is also to train and promote our young people and to empower our women so that our youth and are women are self-reliant and active and confident members of society enabling them to achieve their potential. Our work is all about improving lives for the residents, visitors and customers in the city. Our church is busy and well attended with over 300 people coming to our Sunday services every week. In addition to this, we are open all day everyday delivering many different projects. |
