Recipient Org: Description Trowbridge Future is a local charity supporting youth and community activities supporting some of the most vulnerable people in the community, prioritizing the most deprived areas of Trowbridge; Longfield, Seymour and Studley Green. Trowbridge Future has three core programmes areas: Youth: Trowbridge Future run free weekly, structured youth sessions in the Longfield, Seymour and Studley Green engaging over 200 children and young people aged 8 to 18 years old, based on the ideas of the young people themselves. These sessions enable young people to reach their full potential and develop the activities and facilities that they would like to see. The youth team also deliver detached youth work at the local skate park and across the town. Community: Trowbridge Future run two community hubs offering a ‘public living room’ where local people can access support, signposting and a safe space to connect and talk to other people. Through the Community Hubs Trowbridge Future have been able to support over 1,000 people each year including rough sleepers, those in temporary housing, the elderly, disabled, veterans suffering PTSD, people experiencing severe mental health concerns, those recovering from strokes and those suffering from isolation. Trowbridge Future have the opportunity to directly signpost individuals on to other support services through the wide range of partnerships we have developed. We are able to encourage people to attend our kindness cafes - weekly cafes that helps encourage peer support amongst the community, crafts and women's group. Neighbourhoods: Trowbridge Future work with local residents in the priority neighbourhoods to come together and respond to issues of concern. We currently deliver 3 weekly Community Fridges in each area re-distributing unsold food items from supermarkets. The fridge helps meet individual's immediate food poverty needs and provides them with an up-lift to take them on to a more positive trajectory.
