University of Leeds Institute of Molecular Medicine. (360G-Wellcome-064634_Z_01_A)

£10,400,000

This proposal is for the construction of a new building to establish an Institute of Molecular Medicine in the University of Leeds, at St James's University Hospital. The proposed building will accommodate over 200 clinical and non-clinical scientists and form part of a fully integrated campus accommodating 400 biomedical researchers. This critical mass will be achieved by co-locating the research groups of the 10 principal applicants herein plus those of 65 other independent co-applicants. This will facilitate the application of modern molecular techniques to study major clinical problems. We believe that the unique features of the proposed development will sustain our science at an internationally competitive level.
