The Parliamentarians’ Guide to Health, Climate and Nature (360G-Wellcome-346822_Z_26_Z)

£90,879

The Parliamentarians’ Guide to Health, Climate and Nature is a flagship initiative to strengthen UK legislative action on the climate, nature and health crises. Although the right to health is recognised in the Paris Agreement, policy has been slow to integrate health with climate and nature. The Guide will translate the latest science for a parliamentary audience and bring to life the real-world impacts and policy opportunities of tackling health, climate and nature together. The project will convene leading academic authors to produce concise, authoritative chapters, to equip decision-makers with key data, evidence and analysis. Peers for the Planet will lead content briefing, author liaison and parliamentary engagement, drawing on the expertise of our Chair, Professor Baroness Kathy Willis, and Vice-Chair, Baroness Rosie Boycott, to ensure relevance and cross-party resonance. The Guide will be launched at a parliamentary reception in November 2026 and disseminated widely in print and digital formats to MPs, active Peers and wider policy networks. Expected impacts include increased parliamentary knowledge of the latest science, helping to counter misinformation, stronger ties between legislators and the scientific community, and durable evidence assets to support scrutiny of legislation.
