Recipient Org: Description As part of Cycling UK, Cycle Ayrshire has the vision of a healthier, happier and cleaner world, because more people cycle. We want people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to be able to cycle safely, easily and enjoyably. We promote all forms of cycling to introduce people to the joys of cycling. Our aim is to make cycling mainstream, making a lasting difference to the lives of individuals and communities. Cycle Ayrshire works towards this by providing an all-year programme of non-competitive rides to suit a wide range of ages and abilities. During spring and summer our programme includes beginner and family activities as well as longer challenge rides. As well as ?on the road? cycling we organise ?Fix your bike? classes for women and facilitate outdoor first aid training and cycle ride leader training for our volunteers. We also enable certification in bike maintenance for some of our volunteers. We assist the three Ayrshire Councils and community groups with a wide range of cycling events where our experience and expertise is valued.
