An established group of older people come together in a safe stimulating environment. Allowing members to integrate with each other and opportunities to talk about issues they share and make friends. Reminiscing of shared experiences When arriving in this country they have strived to better their lives for themselves and their children. As most of them were self-employed, they worked long hours and weekends which meant no time for socialising and unable to have time to integrate with the local community Meeting in a group creates a safe and educational environment for them. Their children now have families of their own and have become successful in their chosen careers and some have moved away to other cities or parts of the country. The group members have become isolated, lonely, vulnerable and social excluded The needs and activities are identified through consultation with group members. A variety of activities and information sessions are organised to improve physical and mental health wellbeing, it helps reduce isolation and develop understanding on what services are available to them.
