Recipient Org: Charity Number | SC011989 |
Recipient Org: Description | Established in 1947, Bright Light Relationship Counselling provides professional one to one individual, couple and children's counselling and systemic family therapy. We support people who cannot afford to pay for private counselling (many living in poverty with multiple disadvantages/disabilities). All are struggling with challenges such as poor mental health, are feeling suicidal, abuse survivors, addiction, extreme trauma, loss and bereavement, loneliness and isolation, disability, full time unpaid caring, are refugees, disabled or ill, help with transitioning. We provide support through a blended service by zoom video and phone since covid impact and demand has never been so high for our help with extreme trauma, poor mental health, addiction, domestic abuse, loss and bereavement, stress and anxiety. Our systemic family therapy service has never been busier too with parents/carers especially of children and young people who have disengaged with life due to loss of school, social life, friends, etc through lockdown and now struggling to re-engage and communicate with others. Poor mental health is a key issue and will take years to recover from. Many have been sitting on waiting lists for CAMHs support and received nothing other than our help. |
