Recipient Org: Description | SWAN (Scottish Women?s Autism Network) is an autistic-led Charity delivering services, information and support both by and for autistic women across Scotland since 2012. We believe in Scotland as a home where autistic women and girls can flourish, and we work to achieve this through: - Improving wellbeing, - Improving understanding - Promoting social inclusion and citizenship We provide a range of autistic-led services, both in-person and online, including local meet-up groups, online peer support, pre- and post-diagnosis groups, wellbeing webinars and short-term counselling. We also deliver autistic-led training and information sessions to improve the understanding and inclusion of autistic women, and we work directly with a range of organisations which employ or are accessed by autistic women to achieve greater inclusion and autistic-informed service design and delivery. All of our work is informed by the lived experience of autistic women and girls, and we currently have a network of over 900 members. As an autistic-led Charity, all of our staff and volunteers and the majority of our Trustees are autistic. |
