Recipient Org: Charity Number SC043169
Recipient Org: Description Denis Law Legacy Trust is a registered children's charity that aims to support and empower young people within their own communities. The Trust's flagship programme Streetsport, ran in partnership with Robert Gordon University, delivers free week-nightly sports and creative activity sessions for children and young people, predominantly aged 10 to 18 years living in the most deprived areas of Aberdeen city. We set up mobile activity arenas directly into local communities and operate in the evenings during peak times of anti-social behaviour, 50 weeks of the year. Volunteering is a big part of Denis Law Legacy Trust and forms the backbone of the charity's operations from Trustee level to students to our youth forum. We have a dedicated Volunteer Officer in post to support their roles and development. Since 2006 we have been working in collaboration with Police Scotland and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service in an effort to reduce anti-social behaviour through intervention and diversionary tactics.
