The Catholic Bishops Conference of England and Wales (CBCEW) is applying for funding to enable a number of highly graded Catholic churches and cathedrals undertake much needed and urgent fabric repairs. The Patrimony Committee of the CBCEW provides advice and guidance to the 22 Catholic dioceses in England and Wales (19 of which are in England and has oversight of the Ecclesiastical Exemption Scheme which the Catholic Church operates through its diocesan Historic Churches Committee. The Patrimony Committee (Chaired by The Most Rev. George Stack, Archbishop of Cardiff; Vice Chair: Sophie Andreae DSG, FSA, IHBC) is also the body that is the liaison point with government, statutory and other bodies in all matters relating to the Catholic Church and the historic environment in England and Wales.
