Repaid £3466 overpaymentThe objective of the Zoos Support Fund is to address avoidable animal suffering in zoos, including in the worst cases, preventing additional animals from unplanned euthanasia, compared to what would otherwise have been the case. The aim of the fund is not to ensure that individual zoo operators themselves stay in business. The Authority’s expectation is that businesses, not individuals, will apply for the grant funding.The following establishments are eligible to apply: Premises with a zoo licence under the Zoo Licensing Act 1981,Premises with a section 14 (1a) exemption under the Zoo Licensing Act 1981 where the premises subject to the section 14(1)(a) exemption are also covered by a licence for keeping or training animals for exhibition under LAIA.
