Virachey National Park (VNP) forms the core of one of the most biologically-important and endangered tropicalforests in the world, supporting northern yellow-cheeked crested gibbon, clouded leopard, Asian elephant, andSunda pangolin. It is deeply connected with Indigenous Peoples' cultures and livelihoods.External development pressures and short-term economic interests are prompting shifts towardsunsustainable resource extraction and encroachment.Working with local people, the project will develop conservation zonation and management plans, strengthenindigenous communities capacity, and support sustainable livelihoods.
