Wellbeing of Women (360G-cabinetoffice-G2-GA-202211826751-21-22)

£50,000

This project is a partnership between Wellbeing of Women (WoW) and NHSE to scope out Think Menopause education & training packages aimed at GPs, generalist health check clinicians and breast screening services (any service that sees women regularly). Clinical insight (most likely from a team of clinical fellows, GPs in training, etc) is essential to spread the word educationally with primary care peers and colleagues about menopause management. As part of the plan, the BCT will support WoW in producing information to support any Think Menopause project recruitment which supports EDI and HI (writing JDs, person spec, interviewing techniques, etc) .The menopause improvement programme will significantly impact on wider economic benefits including absenteeism, productivity and (female) staff retention, saving the taxpayer significant welfare benefit costs as more women remain in full-time work for longer, retain higher paid roles and/or at longer hours, significantly impacting on gender equality. It is expected that women will have a better quality of life from receiving correct treatments; benefits will be across diabetes, mental health, dementia, CVD, frailty, osteoporosis, prescribing, prevention, etc;, life expectancy will rise; 500,000+ GP appointments saved pa at c.£35 per appointment; reduced inappropriate prescribing (antidepressants, etc)
