St John and Red Cross Defence Medical Welfare Service (project would involve working with NHS Lanarkshire and University of the West of Scotland) (360G-cabinetoffice-G2-GA-2023021052762-22-23)

DMWS will bring together welfare support and technology to benefit isolated veterans in Lanarkshire in collaboration with Technology Enabled Care. We believe these technologies have incredible potential for improving health and wellbeing of veterans when combined with dedicated welfare support. Many veterans in Lanarkshire are geographically disparate and may struggle accessing health provision; technology enables quicker and easier access to appointments, self-testing solutions and remote befriending and advice services without the need to travel. DMWS will use our expert knowledge and existing connections to identify veterans and introduce assistive technologies, increase uptake, confident use, and wider positive outcomes.
