The Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) shall use all reasonable endeavours to build a high-quality evidence base on "what works" in education practice, and support schools, colleges and early years providers to access and effectively mobilise this evidence to raise attainment of disadvantaged 2-19 year olds.The EEF's investment in the evidence-base will include responding to funding bids for projects from schools, colleges, post-16 providers, early years providers, local authorities, voluntary and community sector organisations, charities, social enterprises and other education organisations.The EEF shall use all reasonable endeavours to achieve the following four objectives with the grant, which cover the core functions of a "what works" centre for education: evidence generation; synthesis; guardianship; and mobilisation.In addition to the above objectives, which pertain to the purpose of the Funded Activity, the EEF shall also leverage additional income to raise the value of the upfront grant from the Department. All such income will be used to support the four objectives above, funding evidence-based approaches that meet the prescribed selection criteria.
