ALB-Historic England-Everyday Heritage: Leicester's Hidden Gems (360G-cabinetoffice-G2-GA-2024041305511-23-24)

£4,000

project will bring together previously homeless Young People who live within YMCA Leicestershires supported accommodation to explore the organisations rich archive of stories and images and reach out to the community to uncover the yet untold and uncaptured stories they and our community of Young People have to tell. This is inspired by recently unearthed gems: Ushers at our Grade II Listed Theatre (The Y Theatre) throughout history lazily depositing old ticket stubs and literature in a void in our theatre balcony, which has given us a unique insight into the lives and community activities that took place in the building throughout the last 125yrs.
