Teaching Internships Programme (360G-cabinetoffice-G2-GA-2025021605068-23-24)

£18,900

The Teaching Internships Programme provides opportunities for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) undergraduates and master's students to experience teaching before they commit to it as a career. To date there have been nine programme cohorts, with a cohort each year since 2016. The purpose of the scheme is to increase the number of mathematics, physics, computing, chemistry and languages teacher trainees. School partnerships shall use all reasonable endeavours to achieve the following aims: increase the numbers of STEM and MFL undergraduates choosing teaching as a career by targeting them at a point at which they are making career choices; provide a teaching internship to allow STEM and MFL undergraduates to experience teaching before committing to it as a career.
