UK Year of Service connects young people to meaningful employment experience. Crucially, this work has a demonstrable positive social impact meaning the roles delivery results in positive outcomes for communities. The placements created through the programme are complemented by wraparound support and enrichment opportunities that enable the needs of the individual to be effectively supported and reduce barriers.By adopting a placed-based approach to delivery, UKYoS seeks to effectively engage those furthest from the labour market. Through the placements, UKYoS creates opportunities for vital workplace exposure, skill development activity and introduction to new networks.
