ALB-Historic England-British Archaeological Awards (360G-cabinetoffice-GA-168872)

The is a project to support the 2018 British Archaeological Awards ceremony. Aimed at an audience which includes heritage professionals, the public, developers, and others who support archaeological work, the awards will address Aim 1 of the Historic England Corporate Plan 2018-2021 - to Champion heritage by recognising excellent and innovative practice and promoting it across the sector and beyond to the clients and beneficiaries of archaeological work. The Awards present a valuable opportunity to showcase the contribution to society made by archaeology and to highlight how Award winners are delivering public benefit through their work, providing inspiration and case study examples to the sector. The Awards are widely promoted by the member organisations which make up the BAA Trust, which include the National Trust, CBA, Archaeology Scotland, CIfA and Historic England, through their print and on-line media. The impact of the Awards will be measured through attendance at the ceremony and through subsequent publicity, with a media release which will be circulated to BAA members to publicise through their own networks. The publicity for the 2018 Award ceremony will be explicitly linked to the BAAs overarching aims to raise the profile of the discipline and to contribute to a greater recognition of the academic, social, environmental and public relations value of archaeology.
