The peer support that Threshold DAS offers, will be social, emotional/practical support but importantly this support is mutually offered and reciprocal, allowing peers to benefit from the support whether they are giving or receiving it.Key elements of the peer support that Threshold DAS offers is built on shared personal experience and empathy, it focuses on an individual's strengths not weaknesses, and works towards the individual's wellbeing and recovery.One of the key benefits of the Only Women ALOUD project is the greater perceived empathy and respect that peer supporters are seen to have for the individuals they support.Befriending / Buddying:Peer: element not necessary, with require self-management-skills - training and support provided.Peer Mentoring:Mentor actively focuses on developing individuals self-management skills.Facilitated Group Peer Support ( 3 groups as a minimum a week in different locations), peer support in a group setting, manages safe sharing of stories and life events and experiences.Peer Led Support GroupsWe will facilitate the setting up of peer volunteer runs and facilitated groups, these will be supported with the organisations staff member. The staff member will be present for the first four weeks all the time and then will drop in on a regular basis to check all is working well - any issue she will be available for support and advice.Proving educational opportunities to improve not only mental ill-health but alsoself-confidence and self-esteem,.
