Howard House is a St Christopher’s run young people accommodation service within the borough of Camden. Since it was opened as an Assessment Centre in 2006, Howard House has played an integral part in the network of provision which comprises the London Borough of Camden Young People’s Pathway. Currently we provide10 assessment spaces for young people and 5 Specialist Progress beds. There is also an emergency bed space available. Howard House offers a safe and supportive environment for single homeless young people between the ages of 16 – 21 years old. Assessment is the first stage in the Pathway. At this stage their accommodation and support needs are comprehensively assessed in order to progress either within, or out of the Pathway.

Recipient Org: Description St Christopher’s Fellowship provides services for children and young people. We provide fostering, residential and support services where children and young people can feel safe and cared for. We were set up in 1870. Our approach is to ensure children and young people at St Christopher’s can be safe, loved, happy and achieve. We want them to succeed and realise their dreams. Last year we worked with 1,108 children and young people. We specialise in: Working with girls affected by child sexual exploitation. Supporting children who run away from care or are on a local authority's risk register. Working with unaccompanied asylum seeking children - in October 2016 we modified an empty house for children from the Calais refugee camp. We lead the sector in adopting a social pedagogic approach to work with young people. We are developing a 'Staying Close' model helping care leavers in their transition to adulthood.
