Grant to Stable Life (360G-thefore-GB-SC-SC011786_2026-04-01)

Stable Life supports at-risk young people across the Scottish Borders, using horses to build confidence, resilience and skills for the future. Last year, 96% of participants increased their confidence, while 91% improved their resilience and wellbeing. Demand has risen sharply, with referrals up 40% in one year and 108 young people now on the waiting list. At the same time, young people have no way to gain formal recognition for the practical and personal skills they develop through Stable Life’s programmes. With The Fore’s funding, Stable Life will increase staff capacity and become an approved Scottish Qualifications Authority Centre, transforming their volunteer programme into an accredited pathway. This will enable them to reach more young people, expand their courses and generate sustainable income through commissioned delivery.
