The funding will be used to engage with existing community groups, 'micro community groups' and businesses, enabling them to develop their support for older people experiencing/at risk of social isolation. It will also allow 'community connectors' to be trained, providing support for hundreds of older people in the local community. The project is a partnership between various community organisations and statutory bodies with a joint aim of reducing and preventing loneliness and social isolation in the area.
