The access centre will use an award to help establish a training and support centre for carers from Knowsley offering daytime respite care and an opportunity to develop skills and interests outside their role as carer. The grant will enable the group to carry out a feasibility study to define the need for the centre and the services that are required. The study will also identify other groups who would wish to use the facilities the centre would offer.
