This one year project will enable the community to purchase the island museum from the existing owner.The museum contains a collection of records, photographs and artefacts relating to the industrial and social history of the islanders. Community ownership will secure the museum, enabling developments that include the provision of a museum shop, the additional income from which will contribute to the long term sustainability of the business. The grant will be used to purchase the museum.
