The purpose of this project is to create a befriending service delivered through 40 activity based friendship groups in the particularly rural counties of Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire. The project will be delivered by the 3 Age Concern organisations in these areas. The befriending service will help increase older peoples social interaction before they have become seriously socially isolated. In that way, it will be a preventative rather than a reactionary service.
