Children Matter (360G-tnlcomfund-0030104725)

£273,343

The aim of the project is to engage older people (aged 50+) in intergenerational voluntary work with children aged 0-11 years in primary schools and pre-schools to boost educational attainment, confidence and self-esteem. The older volunteers benefit from playing a useful role in their local community, staying active, maintaining their self worth and mental and physical well being. The children benefit from having an older role model and more one to one help with reading or maths, and general life skills.
