£318,100

The project in the Theni district, Tamil Nadu, India, aims to work with the poorest and most marginalised Dalits, Adivasis (indigenous people) and Arunthiiyar (part of the Dalit community), through the formation of self-help groups. Special focus will be given to Adivasis and Arunthidiyar communities who are subject to greater discrimination, poverty and social exclusion than their neighbours. The project will also improve women's incomes through micro-enterprise schemes and reduce violence against women.
