Independent Living Research Project (360G-tnlcomfund-0030106002)

The project will explore the experiences of 343 people from thirteen mental health or learning disability hostels who, between 2009 and 2011, will move into new supported living accommodation or existing mainstream housing throughout Leeds. The research will explore whether the move to supported housing improves people's social inclusion and extends opportunities for carers. The research will benefit service users, carers, policy makers, social care and housing providers.
