Recipient Organisation

The project in Sierra Leone aims to promote the human rights of girls. Plan International UK and its partner the National Movement for Emancipation and Progress will focus on social change among communities. Firstly it will address gender inequality as a root to some of the more blatant harmful practices against girls, including early forced marriage and female genital mutilation. Secondly it will support the welfare system to be better equipped to respond to cases of violence against girls/women.
