A 'TimeBank' will encourage community volunteering in the Bournville, Northfield, Shenley and Selly Oak areas of Birmingham. Volunteer work will be recorded and exchanged for rewards such as training and work placements under the scheme which will improve intergenerational relationships and reduce isolation. Young people will be encouraged to take a more positive role within the community and elderly and disabled people will be urged to volunteer.
