In the towns of Sunyani and Techiman in the Brong-ahafo region of Ghana many young people have little knowledge about sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and as a result sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV/AIDS, are common (70% surveyed reported having symptoms of at least one STI).
