Access to Protection of Dalit Rights through Local Government in Themi Dist (360G-tnlcomfund-0030140797)

£448,038

The Constitution of India provides for equality and equity. However, marginalised groups, especially women and Dalits, lack access to civil and political rights. The project aims to ensure that these groups have an opportunity to participate in the political process and to promote their needs and rights. The project will undertake voter education and help empower people's organisations (such as Dalit groups) to design and undertake campaign strategies.
