To promote the benefits of an ageing society by capitalising on the skills and knowledge that older people have to offer and to influence existing policy and practice to improve society’s response to an ageing population. The Fund wants to provide long-term help that supports and joins up work already being carried out by a wide range of organisations. In February 2013, the Fund approved the investment of up to £50M for the Centre for Ageing Better over the next 10 years through a trust.
