The college will run a pilot project entitled ‘Digital Ninjas’ to match young volunteers with older people to improve communication across generations. This will benefit older people by enabling them to gain digital skills to reduce or eliminate their digital exclusion. Young people will benefit from gaining communication and other soft skills through volunteering, this will count towards the volunteering element of the Duke of Edinburgh awards, and SQA volunteering skills award at SCQF Level 4, 5 or 6.
