This funding will enable the group to provide their wide range of activities, which support very vulnerable and isolated individuals who are profoundly deaf, to a greater number of people. The majority of deaf people they work with are isolated not just because they cannot hear but also because profoundly deaf people have a very limited ability to read or write in English. The service will include help with bills and GP appointments and signposting to other voluntary and specialist services.
