Leeds Autism AIM: Autism Mentoring and Peer Support Development (360G-tnlcomfund-0045377523)

The funding will be used to support autistic adults in Leeds through mentoring and peer support activities. The project will recruit train and support volunteer autism mentors who will be carefully matched to autistic adults to provide one to one support for up to 18 months with support taking place in people’s homes at Advonet hubs in Leeds or online. The beneficiaries of this element of the project are likely to be individuals who are most isolated who struggle to access activities in the wider community and who require more long term support to be able to set and achieve goals and to develop self-advocacy skills. Some volunteer autism mentors will be autistic themselves and bring valuable lived experience.
