Peterborough’s community greenspace - Jubilee year activities (360G-tnlcomfund-0045432312)

The funding will improve social cohesion in Peterborough through the creation of an outdoor community hub at Nene Park it will also start the initial stages of strengthening the cultural offer through the roll out of the new Peterborough Cultural Strategy nurturing a sense of space for all. The organisation will run two main events; one large project within the park between the 13-14 May 2022 to bring the whole of the city together in one large festival with an estimated 12000 people in attendance; another art installation project on the 4 June to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee and they will also run 15+ activities alongside these events to support community cohesion. The Nene Park Trust have been carrying out engagement activities since 2018; including questionnaires pilot events and community meetings to understand how the local community and groups use the park and have partnered with many small community disability and youth organisations to plan and deliver the projects.
